While most retail stores will open their doors for a shopping frenzy on Boxing Day there are a lot of closures to tell you about with Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years Day falling on week days.

Tom Davies Square will be closed on December 25, 26, and January 1, as will Citizen Service Centres and Libraries.

The Sudbury and District Health Unit will be closed the 25th, 26th and January 1st but does maintain a 24-hour message service for public health emergencies

Garbage and recycling collection will NOT be affected by the holidays.

Also, the city says that when unwrapping gifts, tissue gift paper does not go in the recycling bin but in the Green Bin if you have one.

Transit will not run Christmas Day, and follow a Sunday and Holiday service schedule for the 26th and January 1st.

Free Transit rides will be available on New Year’s Eve from 10:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
