Between January 1st and the end of September there were 34 pedestrian vehicle collisions in Greater Sudbury.

That concerns city police, who issued some statistics as well as tips for both drivers and pedestrians.

The most common driver error is failing to yeild the right of way, while for pedestrians it was inattentiveness.

And the most common intersection for a MVC involving pedestrians this year was Brady at Minto.

Greater Sudbury Police say reducing these collisions involves more than enforcement.

The public needs to play a role in making road safety a priority, with both pedestrians and dirvers being mindful of each other.
