CP Canada 150 Train In Town This Evening

The CP Canada 150 Train will roll into Greater Sudbury today.

A locomotive will lead 10 restored Royal Canadian Pacific heritage cars.

One car called the “Spirit of Tomorrow” will allow children to write their hopes for Canada’s future on a card that will be affixed on the railcar as it journeys across the country.

Elgin Street will be closed today to traffic between the Minto/Van Horne Street Intersection and Drinkwater Street.

A live music show will run from 5 pm to 8 pm tonight.

Sudbury is one of just 13 stops for the train partly because of the history, the first Canadian Pacific station and telegraph office at Sudbury was set up in 1883 as a temporary facility occupying a small shed immediately behind the Company’s headquarters’ building.
