Meat Loaf collapsed during his concert at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton, Alberta, last night. Video uploaded by a fan on Facebook shows the 68-year-old falling to the ground in the middle of performing his hit “I’d Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That).” Long-time fan Jamie Carriere, who was at the concert, tells CBC News that the crowd shouted words of encouragement at the singer until they realized that the situation was serious. “He just fell,” Carriere said. “You could hear the microphone just hit the ground. I thought it was a joke, I didn’t know what was going on because he was joking around throughout his set.” Edmonton police have confirmed that they responded to a medical call at the venue and the person in need was transported by ambulance to a hospital.

Nick Jonas only just released his second album Last Year Was Complicated, but he’s already thinking about taking a break from music.  “I think acting has become a major priority to me,” he said Thursday at AOL Build. “Along with that comes with a real desire for me to want to direct. So [there’s] a few stories I want to write and hopefully direct myself, and in addition to that, I’d love to return to Broadway at some point in time with a show that I write myself.” Jonas, who currently stars in the Audience Network show Kingdom as a gay MMA fighter, adds, “This is a crazy thing to say, but I’m going to say it: right now, I think the model of the album is kind of done. This may be one of the last traditional album releases I do because I think I need to shift towards where the world is going which is streaming and finding new and creative ways to release music.”

Orlando nightclub shooter Omar Mateen and his wife Noor Zahi Salman reportedly exchanged texts during his rampage that left 49 dead and 53 injured. NBC News reports that Salman texted Mateen at 2:30 a.m.–about half an hour after he opened fire inside the venue Pulse. “Where are you?” she wrote. Mateen responded, “Do you see what’s happening?” When Salman responded “no,” he wrote, “I love you, babe.” She then repeatedly tried to call her husband on his cell phone. Salam was told what occurred at roughly 4 a.m. when police called her and told her to come out of the home she shared with Mateen with her hands up. A source close to Salman says she is cooperating with investigators and has volunteered to take a polygraph test. She is currently in the process of hiring an attorney to represent her.

The deranged fan who killed former Voice contestant Christina Grimmie in Orlando last weekend reportedly went to extreme lengths to alter his appearance, believing that doing so would make her fall in love with him–even though they reportedly never met before he shot her to death on Friday night. According to TMZ, Kevin Loibl got hair transplants and underwent Lasik eye surgery; he also adopted a vegan diet in an attempt to lose weight for her. While Loibl’s co-workers at Best Buy said he also saw her perform in March and hinted he’d met her then, sources close to Grimmie say the two did not know each other at all.
