A professor in the School of the Environment at Laurentian University here in Sudbury is pleased to see Canada back at the table as the Paris climate talks continue.

David Pearson is also excited that Ontario has pledged to cut emissions by 37% by 2030.

Pearson says unlike past climate conferences, he thinks that something concrete will come put of Paris.

U-N Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon made a strong statement Yesterday (MON) by warning a climate catastrophe is approaching if more isn’t done to avert disastrous global warming.

Pearson says it may be time for local residents to put some pressure on Sudbury City Council to set some Municipal Greenhouse Gas Reduction targets.
