Big Baby 2x the Size of what "Normal" Baby Should Be

Say “hello” to Moses William Hilton! This chunky cutie may have been born 11 days early, but he is one of the heaviest babies born at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Kansas.

Weighing in at 14.4 pounds and measuring 22 inches in length, “He’s wearing six to nine months,” and the nurse remembers taking him out and saying ‘It’s a mini sumo wrestler” to which mom Gina Hilton replied asking, ‘Why?’ Then they showed me him and I was like, ‘That is a sumo wrestler!'” said Gina Hilton, mother.

Gina’s two older daughters both weighed 9 pounds when they were born, 2 pounds less than Moses who “was huge. I was carrying a 14 pound bowling ball”. 

Even nurses were shocked, “This little guy is about double what we expect a normal baby to be. When you think of babies who would normally reach that 14 pound mark, they’re also starting to have a lot more neurological development, so that head control and body movement. He’s a newborn. He doesn’t have all that yet, so it does take a lot more to hold on to.”

Baby Moses currently has blood sugar issues and jaundice, but his parents are remaining positive that this BIG sweetheart will be back home with his sisters soon.
