Blues For Food has become tradition for downtown Sudbury, showing off some of the city’s best blues musicians and raising awareness for the Sudbury Food Bank.

The free event goes June 10th on Durham Street, people are asked to bring non-perishable or cash donation for the food bank.

Food Bank Executive Director Dan Xilon says the food from the event gets them through the next month, they’re just finishing off Christmas donations and have a large amount of people who use the food bank in the Summer.

Maureen Luoma of Downtown Sudbury says the event is a chance to show off some of Sudbury’s top Blues musicians, but a chance to raise awareness that the food bank is still there.

Over the 27 years of Blues for Food, close to 300 thousand dollars and 66 tons of non-perishable food has been raised for the Sudbury Food Bank.
