There is a happy ending to a lost dog story reported recently about a poodle mix, found in Estaire.

Last week, the Rainbow District Animal Shelter brought in a dog, they’ve since named ‘Storm’, that was covered in ten pounds of matted and dirty fur.

According to Shelter Manager, Richard Paquette, veterinarians at the Walden Animal Hospital sedated the dog and shaved off the excess hair.

He says under all the hair, the dog was in pretty good condition considering he’d likely been wandering in the bush for six months.

Paquette says there was ample time for Storm’s original owners to come forward, so the dog was to be adopted by a new family today.

The specialized care for Storm was paid for through funds from the Buddy Trust, which is meant for stray dogs and is administered by the Walden Animal Hospital.
