Vodka, gin and whiskey will soon be flowing out of Sudbury as Crosscut Distillery gets ready to open up.

Shane Prodan will open the second distillery in Northern Ontario but the first in Sudbury, a 36 hundred square foot facility on Kelly Lake Road that will feature a tasting and barrelling room.

Prodan had a bit of a difficult time picking what he’s looking forward to making the most but says both gin and whiskey in the right context can be a perfect drink and he’s excited to put his stamp on them.

Prodan says gin in the North will taste a bit different with Juniper plants having a different flavour all over the world.

He’s also excited to be able to source local ingredients.

Crosscut Distillery will be operational in early August and will open the doors in late August or September.
