The city could be facing a lawsuit in the near future.

Residents of the Beaver Lake area are threatening a class action lawsuit against the City of Greater Sudbury if the Beaver Lake Fire Station is closed down.

Beaver Lake is one of nine stations up for closure in the proposed Fire Services Optimization Plan and residents say closing down the station presents risk to life and property.

Residents say fire data is skewed and response time for those living in the area would be more than 20 minutes.

City council will vote on the plan on April 26th in a special council meeting.
