An investigation by the Ontario SPCA has led to four charges of animal cruelty to 61-year old Connie Metayer of Sudbury.

In 2014 a search of Metayer’s property by the SPCA revealed 26 dogs, six of them puppies to be in distress, engaging in fights among each other with old and fresh untreated wounds and in unlivable conditions.

On March 23rd Metayer was sentenced to two years probation, a lifetime ban from owning more than one dog and any dog in her care must be take to the vet annually.

All 26 dogs removed from the property have been adopted to new homes.
