Selena Gomez opened up about her recent stint in rehab during a panel for the new Netflix show 13 Reasons Why, which she executive-produced. “To be frank with you, I actually was going through a really difficult time when they started production,” Gomez recalled on Wednesday. “I went away for 90 days, and I actually met a ton of kids in this place that were talking about issues that these characters are experiencing.” She adds, “Whether I like it or not, people have seen a lot of my mistakes and I had to use that as a good thing, because then they’re able to trust me. I want to be a part of this, because I think this is what they want, this is what they need.” Gomez also reflected on how her high school experience was amplified because she was on the Disney Channel. “Whether it was just kids or growing up in the biggest high school in the world…it was also adults that had the audacity to kind of tell me how I should live my life,” she added. “It was very confusing for me.” And as for social media? Selena could do without it. “I can’t stand what they’re looking at and what they think is reality. There are 17-year-old’s that look older than me and that freaks me out. We’re just so disconnected from people now. Teens just really want [a connection].”

Rihanna reaches new heights in the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine. The cover girl pays tribute to groundbreaking pilot Amelia Earhart in a “utilitarian, modern, and sexy” fashion spread, which features Rihanna in and atop airplanes. Her photos are accompanied by a 1929 Harper’s essay Earhart wrote on “how to fly fashionably.” The singer shared one quote along with the aero-inspired photos, saying, “There’s something so special about a woman who dominates in man’s world. It takes a certain grace, strength, intelligence, fearlessness, and the nerve to never take no for an answer.”

Continuing with an action-packed week, Lady Gaga dropped a rowdy new video for her song “John Wayne” on Wednesday. Although the full video is currently only available on Apple Music, Gaga shared a teaser clip on Twitter. With it, she tweeted “I’M STRUNG OUT ON #JOHNWAYNE! Surprise!” The video for the raucous, country-flavored Joanne tune features Gaga riding a motorcycle and a horse, and getting hit with a beer can on the side of the road. It was directed by Jonas Akerlund, who also helmed her video for “Telephone.” Billboard describes it as having a similar flavor to Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse.
