Add another provincial award to the city’s trophy case.

This past week Sudbury was given an OPWA Public Works Project of the Year Award in the Environment category for the Sudbury Wastewater Treatment Plant.

It was the city’s third provincial award for public work projects in the last five years.

The 11 million dollar upgrades to the treatment centre, which were completed in February 2015, now save the city over 100 thousand dollars per year in energy costs.
