Annual Red Cross Northern Raffle Comes To An End

It’s the end of an era for the Canadian Red Cross in Northern Ontario.

The 20th and final Northern Raffle was held today.

Red Cross Northern Chair Harvey Wyers says it was another good year with 10,377 tickets sold.

Since the draw began in 1995 more than $1.5 million has been raised.

The money goes towards programs like disaster relief, seniors’ transportation,  homelessness initiatives and first aid training.
