Day of Pink

By Stew Kernan

April 8th is “Day of Pink, the International Day against Bullying, Discrimination, Homophobia and Transphobia”.

Students at schools in the Rainbow District School Board are encouraged to wear pink in a show of support.

Superintendent Leslie Dye says it demonstrates the board’s commitment to safe schools.

She also says the day shows the importance that these issues are discussed in school, at home and in the community.

Dye feels it’s important students get an education that includes personal, social and citizenship development.
