Ben Stiller
revealed on yesterday’s episode of The Howard Stern Show that he recently underwent surgery after being diagnosed with prostate cancer. “It came out of the blue for me. I had no idea,” says the 50-year-old Stiller. “At first, I didn’t know what was gonna happen. I was scared. It just stopped everything in your life because you can’t plan for a movie because you don’t know what’s gonna happen.” He added that one of the first people he called was his old Meet the Parents co-star Robert De Niro, who previously battled prostate cancer, and encouraged other men get screened for the disease. “It’s the second most deadly cancer,” Stiller said. “But it’s also one of the most survived cancers if it’s detected early.” Stiller also published an essay on Medium yesterday, crediting his prostate cancer test for saving his life.

In the wake of backlash over her comments about Taylor Swift and her squad, Demi Lovato has announced that she’s taking a hiatus from the spotlight. “So excited for 2017,” she tweeted on Tuesday. “Taking a break from music and the spotlight… I am not meant for this business and the media.” When fans asked when she plans on returning, the 24-year-old singer responded, “Dunno. It doesn’t feel worth it anymore. I’d rather do charity work tbh.” In the latest issue of Glamour, Lovato ripped T-Swift for tearing down Katy Perry with her song “Bad Blood” and threw shade at her svelte circle of BFFs. “This will probably get me in trouble, but I don’t see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal bodyIt’s kind of this false image of what people should look like.” She’s since tweeted about the interview, “I get asked questions. I answer them. Sue me.”
