With the first overall pick in the 2021 OHL Draft the Sudbury Wolves selected American Quentin Musty.

Here is GM Rob Papineau with the announcement.

Musty who is 15-years old and is already 6’2′ and 190 pounds.

He joins a long list of very good hockey players to be taken first overall, a list that includes recent Wolves picks David Levin and Quinton Byfield…but it also comes with pressure, something Musty says he is ready to handle.

Being drafted first overall for him was a bit of a shock but he put on the Wolves jersey and can’t wait to head up north.

Musty is from New York, recently won the US youth Tier 1 U16 National Championship and played for the North Jersey Avalanche, where he scored 23 goals and 33 assists in just 27 games.

He’s described as a big, highly skilled, power forward with exceptional puck control and playmaking skills.

Papineau said what impressed him the most was when the win was on the line he just got better and better.

The Wolves won the right to pick first overall in a draft lottery after the OHL season was cancelled.
