We’re living through an unprecedented time, so we’ve come up with a list of things you can do – for yourself or our community.

 

Kiss 105.3 Top 5 things that will make a difference right now:

  1. Support Local Businesses. Reach out on Facebook to see if there is anything you can do that will help and spread the word. Order products for deliver. Purchase services in advance.  Reach out and show a little love.
  2. Join the Caremongering movement. This movement is designed to help those in need with anything during this crisis. Join the group on Facebook and lend a hand where you can. If you need help, this is also the place to reach out.
  3. Check on a neighbour. You can still practice social distancing and help a neighbour in need. Just write a note with your phone number and tell them to call or text if they need anything…to talk, cream for their coffee, toilet paper…whatever.
  4. Donate to the Foodbank. Donations are down and usuage is way up. In two weeks, the Sudbury Food Bank has seen as much usage as they do in 1 month. Staples they are looking for include: Pasta, Pasta Sauce, Peanut butter, canned potatoes…or make a cash donation online. https://www.sudburyfoodbank.ca/donate/
  5. Listen to some great music! You can tune into KiSS from Radioplayer Canada, on the KiSS App (available in Google Play or in the Apple Store) or by clicking on the Listen Live button!
  6. Check out this list of over 100 fun, crafty, crazy, silly, simple, neat, messy things to do with the kids at home!
  7. Learn some magic tricks!
  8. Do a Spring Scavenger Hunt. Get the list of things to look for here!
  9. Read some books. Razkids.com has lots of free ebooks. The Government of Ontario has posted Educational resources for kids in kindergarten to Grade 12. We even have great games and activites on our website. You’re not in this alone…
  10. Zoos, museums and art galleries are all offering virtual tours for free. What a great activity to share with the kids. Treat it like a mini field trip and explore the Natural Museum in London, the San Diego Zoo or take a virtual roller coaster ride at Canada’s Wonderland.   14. Watch a concert from the comfort of your living room. Lots of artists have opened up their homes and are providing free concerts on Instagram to keep us entertained.
