Greater Sudbury Police arrested a 45-year old man and charged him with attempted murder after an altercation on Dublin Street over the weekend.

Police say they responded to a call on McLean Street in New Sudbury where a 43-year old man who suffered knife wounds to the head was inside a stopped taxi.

The man had suffered a head wounds and punctured stomach but was able to tell police who was responsible.

Police then went to a residence on Dublin Street, where the altercation happened, and arrested the 45-year old without incident.

The victim is expected to make a full recovery.

Police say this was not a random incident.

The 45-year old faces one count of Attempted Murder, one count of Weapon Dangerous and two counts of Breach of Probation.
