This weekend Keira and I had an absolute blast at the Northern Lights Festival Boreal!  All weekend long there was live music, food vendors, and loads of interesting arts vendors!  All of the music, and the booths set up in Arts Village were local!  The talent on each and every stage this weekend was unreal, with local artists from all over Northern Ontario!  On Thursday night, the Arkells headlined on the main stage at the Grace Hartman Amphitheater, and what an amazing performance they gave!  The audience was packed with people and excitement!  Friday’s performances followed suit with amazing talent and music, and the weather was beautiful and spending the day in the sun.  Keira finally got her beaver tail that she had been waiting for all week, and got to sit in the grass to enjoy the bands and sunlight.

Saturday again had fantastic weather, and music.  On the Canvas Cabaret stage we got to see Murder Murder perform, and despite their name, they had surprisingly calm music.  Definitely one of our new favorite bands.  We sat and listened to them for at least a half hour!  I put sunscreen on, but quite frankly I didn’t use enough, because Keira got out of the day with a sweet tan, and I got out with a sunburn the color of tomatoes!  That being said, I would take the sun any day over rain!  The headliners on the main stage on Saturday Night were the Alvvays.  They rocked the stage with a performance to please all ages!

Today we started our day off by heading to the Dairy Queen in Val Caron to treat ourselves with ice cream for breakfast. Keira got to continue her obsession with the Summer Berry Cheese Cake Blizzard.  She even convinced 3 other people at the Dairy Queen to try it as well!  I stuck to my Cotton Candy blizzard, which I get every time i go.  I guess I shouldnt make fun of keira so much for gettting the Summer Berry Blizzard eh?  When we got to bell park we got too enjoy what was another beautiful day, and the festivities were just as exciting as they were all weekend!  There were tons of dogs that got to go home with custom printed pet bandannas, and Keira thinks that I have a pretty serious career opportunity in “dog photography”.  The amount of people who came out to the Northern Lights Festival Boreal all weekend long was incredible and with all the action and excitement there was never a dull moment!
