Public speaking is clearly a strength of 9-year old Daniela Grottoli who recently won silver at the Oratacular Nationals Speech Competition.

The Grade 4 student from R.L. Beattie Public School won the local Eye Level Sudbury competition and submitted her speech with family as the one thing she couldn’t live without.

She was up against over 18 hundred other students from Canada and the US and judges picked her Youtube video as second best.

Judging was based 25% on public votes and the other 75% was based on internal criteria.

Grottoli had a message for those who deal with a fright of public speaking.

Grottoli plans to donate her prize money to the Tobin Family in memory of their son and Humboldt’s Goalie Parker Tobin who wore the same number in hockey as Daniela this season.

Her silver speech which has almost 3,000 views can be watched here.

Daniela Grottoli’s mom Kathy sent us over a hockey picture of Daniela who will be donating prize money to the family of the Humboldt Broncos goalie Parker Tobin who wore the same number in hockey as Daniela this season.
