Ontario Provincial Police say a 53-year old man from Sudbury was killed in yesterday’s collision between two transports on Highway 69 north of Still River.

Eugene Coon was the driver of the northbound tractor trailer that struck a southbound unit head-on just before 9 am.

The other driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The road wasn’t fully re-opened until after 10 pm last night and the investigation continues.

 

One man is dead and seven high school students were injured after a SUV slammed into the back of a school bus on Highway 17 in Spragge.

The collision happened around 8 am this morning in the community West of Sudbury near Blind River.

The driver of the SUV 62-year-old Marc Robitaille was taken to hospital but pronounced dead.

Seven students were also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
