Assuming kids may (fingers crossed) have the option of returning to in-person schooling this fall, many parents have already started thinking about back-to-school shopping.

And it looks like parents are sparing no expense on clothing and school supplies this year. This may shock you, but new research shows that we’re spending an average of $843 per child! Ouch!

No big surprise here, regardless of how much you are budgeting for back-to-school shopping this year, chances are it’s more than what you spent last time they went back. The study showed last time we spent $707 per child, so we’re up 19%.
