Formerly Friendly Turkey Named Gerald Terrorizes Oakland Park

A wild turkey named Gerald has gone from being a neighborhood favorite, to becoming an aggressive nuisance at a park in Oakland, California, UPI reports, and now residents want him gone. Once turkey mating season began early this summer, the male turkey became so aggressive towards humans officials were forced to shut the park down. “He’s still there,” Ann Dunn, director of Oakland Animal Services, told the East Bay Times. “A Department of Fish and Wildlife officer tried to trap him and couldn’t, so he gave up.”

 

Arizona Hiker Rescued After Falling 70 Feet & Being Stranded for 24 Hours

An Arizona man survived a 70-foot drop on a hike that stranded him for 24 hours, according to People. Jacob Velarde was hiking the Indian Maiden Falls trail when the trail fell apart under his feet, leading to a fall into a canyon that cracked his skull. He also had an orbital fracture, broken ankle, broken nose and other bruises and cuts. “At that moment I thought, ‘This is it; I’m gonna die,'” he said in a TV interview.. Luckily, a hiking family found him; he was airlifted to the hospital. He said “Right now, I just feel blessed… In all honesty, I shouldn’t have been able to survive a fall like that.”

Davide Rizzi dunked a basketball after jumping off a trampoline nearly 27 feet away from the hoop, tying a Guinness World Record.
The distance of 26 feet, 6.89 inches tied the Italian with Kerim Daghistani of Hungary.
In Rome recently, an Italian basketball freestyler named Davide Rizzi tied a Guinness World Record by dunking a ball after bouncing off a trampoline positioned nearly 27 feet away from the hoop. The dunking distance of 26 feet, 6.89 inches deadlocked Rizzi with Kerim Daghistani of Hungary.
