As millions around the world lose their jobs amid the coronavirus shutdown, it seems the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy are still finding work–at least in New Zealand.

On Monday, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern declared that those two famous figures can still be considered “essential workers” alongside doctors, nurses, police officers, and grocery store staff.

“You will be pleased to know that we do consider both the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny to be essential workers,” Ardern said.

“I say to the children of New Zealand, if the Easter Bunny doesn’t make it to your household, we have to understand that it’s a bit difficult at the moment for the bunny to perhaps be everywhere.”

She also suggested placing hand-drawn pictures of Easter eggs in front windows so kids can still go on Easter egg “hunts.”
