Animal rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) wants you to stop using “anti-animal language”.

HOLY COW! Really? Sorry. I’ll stop.

PETA say phrases like “bring home the bacon” and “kill two birds with one stone” are the equivalent of homophobia and racism.

PETA captioned the post saying:
“Words matter, and as our understanding of social justice evolves, our language evolves along with it. Here’s how to remove speciesism from your daily conversations”

Instead of using animal phrases, PETA has some alternative options for you to choose from. Try not to laugh, okay?

“Just as it became unacceptable to use racist, homophobic, or ableist language, phrases that trivialize cruelty to animals will vanish as more people begin to appreciate animals for who they are and start ‘bringing home the bagels’ instead of the bacon”

Also, let me just say I am a HUGE animal lover and totally support the organization for what they do, but in my opinion, this is really distracting people from bigger animal-rights issues. Not to mention, it trivializes the plight that victims of racism and homophobia go through. Trying to compare their struggle to a damn pig being offended by the phrase “bring home the bacon” is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. And I’m sorry, but NOBODY is going to start using these animal-friendly phrases. It’s just not going to happen.
