Ariana Grande & Pete Davidson Have Reportedly Called It Quits

It’s being reported by TMZ that Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have called off their engagement and are headed towards splitsville.

According to TMZ, “Sources close to the former couple tell us AG and PD split this weekend, with both parties acknowledging that it simply was not the right time for their relationship to take off.  We’re told the two still have love for each other, but things are over romantically.” 

Since Mac Miller’s passing in September, Ariana has been avoiding the spotlight with her team releasing this statement, “Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend.  She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline.  She thanks her fans for their understanding.”  A week later, Ariana announced herself on social media that she won’t be touring for a long time.  She explained that she might do a mini tour for now but that’s still up in the air.

The news about Ariana and Pete come soon after it was announced that Ariana pulled out of a cancer benefit last minute all due to ‘personal turmoil.’  She was supposed to perform at ‘F**k Cancer’s Inaugural Barbara Berlanti Heroes Fundraising Gala.  Ariana’s manager, Scooter Braun gave a speech on Ariana’s behalf, “One of the most amazing things about this organization is that they help people when they’re having the worst moments in their life, and they give sympathy and a calm nature to people in need in those moments.  And you saw your invite, someone I’m very close to was supposed to come sing for you today, and because of things that she’s going through, she couldn’t be here today.  And while I was frustrated, being the manager, my wife, being who she always is, just looked at me and she goes, ‘She needs this time.'”  Prior to her gala performance, Ariana also cancelled her appearance on Saturday Night Live, that too was decided last minute.

We learned about Ariana and Pete’s engagement back in May, just a few weeks after they began dating.  We also learned that Pete spent around $100K for the wedding ring.  With Ariana pleading to fans, asking if she could possibly have just one day, Pete still appeared on SNL.

TMZ also reports, “Our source says while things may be done for the couple for now, the two aren’t ruling out the possibility of anything in the future.”
