Sudbury welcomed more than 270 people, for a Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Conference.

Family members of victims were in attendance in the two day conference aimed at bringing awareness as well as gaving an opportunity to heal.

Aboriginal Women’s Violence Prevention Coordinator, Lisa Osawamick, says some people came from as far as Sarnia and Thunder Bay for the conference that also featured workshops, support people and elders.

Osawamick, says there are parts of the country that still need a lot of work but Sudbury is striving to help family members and help women live free from violence.
