Santa Claus is coming to town as the main attraction of the 49th annual Greater Sudbury Santa Claus Parade.

The over 60 floats are expected to draw close to 30 thousand people to downtown, with a Santa Claus Watch Party at 2 pm and the parade beginning at 5:30 on Saturday.

Downtown Sudbury’s Maureen Luoma says this year’s theme is Canada 150.

Luoma says everyone involved in the parade does an incredible amount of work.

Luoma says there are two major changes this year, fireworks will be let off on the Van Horne hill before the parade and the route will go in reverse.

Fireworks will be launched from the Van Horne hill at 5:15 and parking is free at all municipal lots downtown.

Santa Watch Party begins at 2 pm.
