The Rainbow Routes Association is issuing a challenge.

Inspired by the famous El Camino de Santiago pilgrimage routes, Rainbow Routes is launching Sudbury Camino so residents can discover Greater Sudbury’s portion of the Trans Canada Trail.

The 20 km Camino route goes from Moonlight Beach to Robinson Park and is a portion of the 93 km Sudbury Section of the Trans Canada Trail.

Official Camino passports can be picked up at the Main, South End or New Sudbury libraries.

There are two ways to complete the full challenge.

Pre- register online for Saturday, August 12 at 8:30 am at Moonlight Beach for Explore Sudbury’s official Camino hike.

You will be free to walk the entire 20 km route with us or stop at transit stop locations along the way.

Public transit tickets will be provided, if needed.

The second option is to walk the Camino route on your own between August 1 and August 26, taking photos at the designated milestone locations.

With these photos, you will be able to collect stamps at our Trans Canada Trail celebration event on August 26.

The comprehensive booklet outlines the Camino route including information on how to participate and collect challenge stamps which can be redeemed for a limited edition Rainbow Routes prize.
