Standoff In Verner Continues

OPP and West Nipissing Police secured a residence in Verner with a man inside but the standoff continues.

OPP were called in to help West Nipissing Police around 1 pm on Monday while a notice was served to the resident.

Police retreated from the residence after initial attempts to communicate with the man were unsuccessful.

Because the investigation is ongoing OPP could not comment on if there are any weapons involved are not, but do say public safety is not at risk.

OPP’s Critical Incident Command team are on the scene.
