The provincial government is investing 1.13 million dollars into repairs and upgrades for Health Sciences North.

Director of Facilities, Pat Tessier talked about where the money will go.

He says there are two other small projects in the works that will use the funds as well.

Interim CEO and Senior VP at HSN, Joe Pilon says these upgrades are critical and the funds allow the hospital to tackle upgrades and repairs without tapping into their front line health care budget.

Ontario is investing 175 million dollars throughout the province for hospital repairs and upgrades, including two million dollars for Timmins and District Hospital.
