Laurentian University opened its Indigenous Sharing and Learning Centre as part of National Aboriginal Day celebrations.

The goal of the facility is to bring together all to enhance Indigenous education, advance understanding and support the needs and aspirations of Indigenous communities.

The building features a unique round-room gathering space, seminar room, counselling areas, ceremonial spaces, lounge and kitchen.

It will serve as almost a home away from home for many students.

Staff members say the 75 hundred square foot building signifies an important and visible presence of Indigenous people at LU.
