In Ottawa there are regulations for setting up a lemonade or juice stand on federal land and every Sunday in the Summer one federal road is closed down for cyclists.

The National Capital Commission were in some heat for shutting down a lemonade stand operated by two girls last year only to re-open it after public outcry.

We spoke with Manager of security, bylaw and court services with the City Of Greater Sudbury, Brendan Adair, asking him if there are such regulations like that here in Sudbury.

Adair says they have regulations for certain road-side businesses, but wouldn’t close down a stand operated by children.

This year in Ottawa they are allowing various stands to be set up along the federal road used for biking for just three Sunday’s with some pretty wide hoops to jump through.
