A middle aged man had to be rescued from Junction Creek earlier today.

Around 2 pm, Fire Services were called to Junction creek at Paris and Lloyd street, where they found a man inside a tunnel, hanging on so he wouldn’t be swept down fast flowing water.

The water rescue team entered the water, put the victim onto a rescue board and brought him back to safety.

He was taken to hospital and the platoon chief believes his injuries were not serious.
