There are a couple seats left on the Big Bike for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The local foundation is looking for four more teams, made up of 20-29 riders as the event raises money for life-saving heart and stroke research.

Area Coordinator, Cori-Lynn Lemaitre, says there are a number of reasons why people hop on the biggest bike in Canada, like team building, some are riding for a friend, loved one or coworker and some do it for the spirit of giving back.

Lemaitre says it’s a nation wide fundraiser but money gets earmarked for local research.

This year the focus will be on children’s health.

Last year 800 thousand dollars was dedicated to research in Northern Ontario.

Big Bike Sudbury takes place from May 15-19th and the registration deadline is May 12th.
