Sudbury Fire Services are saying a electrical fire caused around 300 thousand dollars in damages at a home in New Sudbury.

The fire happened around 3:20 this morning on Hawthorne Street and two people are now left without a home.

The residents were awoken by working smoke alarms.

Fire services say the fire started in the basement likely from an overloaded circuit.
