A dog attack last week in the city has now resulted in charges against the owner and the seizure of the attacking animals.

A dog that was on a leash in its own yard was attacked by two off-leash animals resulting in the death of the on leash dog.

The city initially issued a vicious dog notice but then invoked the provincial Dog Owners Liability Act…and over the weekend laid charges and took the dogs away.

The animals will be held in a shelter under the courts decide what to do with them.
