It was a frightening experience for a local family this week driving in Lively.

A family was driving under the first of two bridges on Main Street when debris fell, smashing their sunroof and cutting their nine-year old daughter in the neck.

Their daughter was okay, but Nickel Belt MPP France Gelinas stood in Queen’s Park saying they are not the only ones who have experienced something like this.

Gelinas says she spoke with the Ministry of Transportation who confirmed they are scheduled to be fixed next year and are working to make sure the two bridges are safe to drive on and under.

But Gelinas is calling on anyone who may have experienced or witness similar incidents, so she can coordinate with the MTO.
