Drive aware, not impaired was the message once again as Action Sudbury launched their 28th annual Red Ribbon Campaign.

Residents are asked to tie a red ribbon on their vehicle, making a commitment to sober driving.

Chairman, Ron Roy says the awareness is having an impact, as impaired numbers are decreasing while the number of drivers increases.

The annual Red Ribbon campaign will not only focus on drinking and drinking, but on texting and driving and driving high.

Jason Fogg lost his sister Jessie who was texting a driving and says something so minor as sending a text can have the biggest impact.

Sudbury OPP Commander Dan Esposto says the youth is leading the movement.

However the problem still exists, as in the holiday season from 2011 to 2015, Sudbury Police caught 31 impaired drivers.
