The Edgar Burton Food Drive and Kids Helping Kids Campaign returns with the goal of surpassing 1000 tons of food.

The Sudbury Food Bank serves over 16 thousand people each month, with half of those being children, and the holiday season is one of the busiest times.

So the food drive returns just in time and in its history over 960 tons of food have been collected in the drive started by Edgar Burton who was an employee of what is now Vale.

Co-Chair, Danica Pagnutti says the need is there year round, but this is become one of the biggest food drives for the Food Bank and one of the biggest in Canada.

The Kids Helping Kids Campaign is in its 8th year along side the Edgar Burton Food Drive.

Principal of Nesbitt Public School, Kerri Monaghan says it’s important for the children to be involved in the food drive because they are helping to feed classmates.

The food drive will run until December 16th, for more information or how to participate head to www.sudburyfoodbank.ca.
