Santa Claus is coming to town in less than a week, as he will be the feature of the 48th annual Greater Sudbury Santa Claus Parade.

The parade goes Saturday beginning at 5:30 pm, as 60 floats will take part with a fairy-tale Christmas theme.

Special Events Officer with the city, Shelley Lalonde says to be able to have an event last 48 years is pretty special.

Santa says, “Ho, Ho, Ho.”

Lalonde says every year she is blown away with the effort put into the floats.

It’s estimated that over 25 thousand people head downtown to watch the parade, if you include volunteers, officers and float creators, there will be over 40 thousand people in the downtown core.

The parade starts on Notre Dame, weaves through downtown and ends at St. Anne and Elgin Street.

We will have traffic updates as the parade date nears.
