Ken Pagan.

If you’ve followed sports coverage around the north over the last 10 years, chances are you’ve heard his name before.

He’s a former reporter at the Timmins Daily Press, and also has his name on display at the McIntyre Arena on their “reporters” board, honouring his work locally.

Now, Pagan’s face is circulating all across the country as the Toronto Police’s suspect in the beer throwing case during Tuesday night’s American League Wild Card game between the Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles.

The Toronto Sun says Pagan is making arrangements with police to turn himself in and has not been charged.

Pagan has been advised by his lawyer not to comment, but had this to say to the Sun.

“I was drinking out of a cup,” he told Postmedia, and suggested Twitter photos that show him after the can was tossed clearly indicate he had a cup in his hand. “I’d love to tell you what happened and my story … but I can’t say anything.”

Pagan has evidently taken aback by the whole situation.  Usually one to be active on social media, he has deleted both his Facebook and Twitter accounts.

And on top of it all, video is surfacing that Pagan may not have been the one to throw the beer in the first place.  The video breakdown is available below.

(EDITORS NOTE: I got to know Pagan while I was in North Bay.  There, he was a sports reporter for the local newspaper and many of our mutual friends have taken to social media posting the video below as evidence to defend him.  You be the judge.)
