Health Sciences North President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Denis Roy will be retiring in June 2017.

Roy became President and CEO in 2009 and helped bring children’s health care need to the forefront with NEO Kids, transformed the former Memorial hospital into an outpatient centre and established the HSN Research Institute which is ranked in the top 40 in Canada.

Roy also helped open a state-of-the-art simulation lab and created a CEO Patient and Family Advisory Council.

In a release Roy says he is inspired by the people in the north and now is a good time for a leadership transition.

The recruitment process for a new CEO will begin later this month.
