Renee Zellweger has opened up about why she took several years off from acting and disappeared from the public eye. “I was fatigued and wasn’t taking the time I needed to recover between projects and it caught up with me,” she says in the new issue of British Vogue. “I got sick of the sound of my own voice: It was time to go away and grow up a bit.” The 47-year-old actress, whose movie Bridget Jones’s Baby hits theaters in September, goes on to explain, “I found anonymity, so I could have exchanges with people on a human level and be seen and heard, not be defined by this image that precedes me when I walk into a room. You cannot be a good storyteller if you don’t have life experiences, and you can’t relate to people.”

Formerly blonde Christina Aguilera is rocking a new hair colour! While attending Hillary Clinton’s “She’s With Us” fundraiser, she revealed her new, fiery-red-hair which was styled into Jessica Rabbit-esque-finger-wave-curls.

Not only did Aguilera sing “Fighter,” she also performed her hit single “Ain’t No Other Man”, throwing her support behind the Clinton campaign ahead of Tuesday’s California primary.

Other performers included AlJohn Legend, Stevie Wonder and Ricky Martin.

Meryl Streep did her best Donald Trump impression last night during a rendition of Kiss Me Kate’s “Brush Up Your Shakespeare,” a duet which also featured Christine Baranski dressed up as Hillary Clinton.

Video from the event at the annual Shakespeare in the Park Public Theater Gala shows Streep dressed in Trump’s typical suit and wearing what looks to be a hairpiece, while lowering her voice to sound more like The Donald.

There’s no need for sunscreen on the set of Live!–because Kelly Ripa is providing plenty of shade. On Tuesday’s episode, Ripa took her millionth shot at former co-host Michael Strahan during a conversation with guest Joel McHale about her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “Is it weird to think people are walking on top of you right now?” he asked. Ripa was quick to respond, “No. I’ve gotten used to that.” When the audience grew quiet, she assured them, “It’s okay. We can laugh.” This is by no means the first time that Ripa has made it clear that she’s upset about Strahan leaving the show. Ahead of his May 13 departure, she made a point of bringing up his two divorces live on air, made a joke about contract negotiations and wore a jacket that read “Freedom” on the back.

The Goonies may be good enough for a sequel! Sean Astin, who played Mikey in the hit 1985 movie ‘The Goonies’ hinted at a possible sequel to the classic Steven Spielberg story.

While at Phoenix ComicCon over the weekend, Astin said the original 1985 film is “not the only time that Mikey will come face to face with One-Eyed Willy”.

Meanwhile, Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman, and Martha Plimpton have all expressed an interest in returning to their roles for a “Goonies 2″ over the years, but many of the rest of the cast have actually left the acting business.

Whether or not Astin knows specifically what the sequel would entail is unclear but rumor has it the sequel would include the kids from the first movie, now as adults, with their own children bringing them into a new adventure.

It took Courtney Baker more than a year to write and mail a letter she had been thinking about since she was pregnant with her daughter with special needs, Emersyn Faith.

“I knew how important it was going to be to write that letter, before Emmy was even born.”

Together, the Florida mom and her 15-month-old-daughter dropped the letter in the mail – –  a letter written to the doctor who suggested this mom terminate her pregnancy.

Courtney says even after she refused abortion, she continued to feel pressured.

“Every action, from opening and closing the mailbox to raising the red flag, was closure for me. I have no idea how the doctor might have reacted to my letter, but I do have faith that God can work any miracle and he can change any heart.”

The letter read:

Dear Doctor,

A friend recently told me of when her prenatal specialist would see her child during her sonograms, he would comment, “He’s perfect.” Once her son was born with Down syndrome, she visited that same doctor. He looked at her little boy and said, “I told you. He’s perfect.”

Her story tore me apart. While I was so grateful for my friend’s experience, it filled me with such sorrow because of what I should have had. I wish you would have been that doctor.

I came to you during the most difficult time in my life. I was terrified, anxious and in complete despair. I didn’t know the truth yet about my baby, and that’s what I desperately needed from you. But instead of support and encouragement, you suggested we terminate our child. I told you her name, and you asked us again if we understood how low our quality of life would be with a child with Down syndrome. You suggested we reconsider our decision to continue the pregnancy.

From that first visit, we dreaded our appointments. The most difficult time in my life was made nearly unbearable because you never told me the truth. My child was perfect.

I’m not angry. I’m not bitter. I’m really just sad. I’m sad the tiny beating hearts you see every day don’t fill you with a perpetual awe. I’m sad the intricate details and the miracle of those sweet little fingers and toes, lungs and eyes and ears don’t always give you pause. I’m sad you were so very wrong to say a baby with Down syndrome would decrease our quality of life. And I’m heartbroken you might have said that to a mommy even today. But I’m mostly sad you’ll never have the privilege of knowing my daughter, Emersyn.

Because, you see, Emersyn has not only added to our quality of life, she’s touched the hearts of thousands. She’s given us a purpose and a joy that is impossible to express. She’s given us bigger smiles, more laughter and sweeter kisses than we’ve ever known. She’s opened our eyes to true beauty and pure love.

So my prayer is that no other mommy will have to go through what I did. My prayer is that you, too, will now see true beauty and pure love with every sonogram.

And my prayer is when you see that next baby with Down syndrome lovingly tucked in her mother’s womb, you will look at that mommy and see me then tell her the truth: “Your child is perfect.”

“I hope he sees Emmy. I hope he sees my words on paper,” Baker told ABC News. “Emmy is proof that children with special needs are worthy and can change the world. She’s doing it right now.”
