The world was excited to see Oscars host Chris Rock make some #OscarsSoWhite jokes after all the controversy surrounding the lack of racial diversity at the Academy Awards. Well, Will Smith’s and wife Jada Pinkett Smith, who openly boycotted the awards because of that, were the targets of one of Rock’s jokes. He says, Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited”

“Is Hollywood racist?” he asked. “You’re damn right Hollywood’s racist.” Rock goes on to explain that the industry was not “burning cross racist … it’s a different type of racist”.

Rock finished with: “We want opportunity – give black actors the same opportunities as white actors. That’s it. Leo gets a great part every year. What about Jamie Foxx?”

Lady Gaga was not only nominated for her first Oscar, for her original song, “Til It Happens to You” from the documentary The Hunting Ground, but she also performed at last nights awards show. Introduced by Vice President Joe Biden, who spoke about the White House’s “It’s On Us” campaign, addressing sexual assault, which is what her song focuses on, she delivered an epic performance. While on stage, there was a group of sexual-assault survivors joining Gaga, which led to a standing ovation (and tears) from audience members. Earlier this week, Gaga  openly voiced her support for Kesha.
