Looking to support the success of Aboriginal learners in Sudbury, the provincial government announced they will provide almost 700 thousand dollars to over 50 local students.

Nearly 540 thousand dollars from Ontario’s Targeted Initiatives Fund will make room for 48 students to complete the Line Crew Ground Support Program at the Gezhtoojig Employment and Training Centre.

Cambrian College will also receive almost 140 thousand dollars to enrol six aboriginal students in the Industrial Mechanical Millwright Technical Program.

Debbie Recollet is the General Manager of Gezhtoojig Employment and Training Centre says this opens the doors for students of all ages.

The last three classes of the Line Crew Ground Support Program have a 80 percent graduation rate and 70 percent employment rate.
