This is 2-1-1 Awareness Week….a week dedicated to getting the word out about a telephone service offered here in Sudbury and across the country.

Ciara Deschamps is the Community Coordinator at United Way Sudbury and Nipissing Districts and says the phone line is designed for people who need help, where it wouldn’t be labeled an emergency.

The free, confidential service can help put you in contact with family programs, Food Bank locations, disability support, and immigration services.

Deschamps says for more information, head to www.211ontario.ca or simply dial 2-1-1.

The service is confidential, free, open 24/7, is offered in over 150 languages and someone will be waiting on the other side to help.
