Confederation Secondary School in Val Caron is one of just 14 high schools across the country to get a special grant from Best Buy Canada.

Through their School Tech Grant program, Best Buy donated 150 thousand dollars to the 14 schools with 18 thousand dollars going to Confed, which they will use to purchase two full class sets of Google Chromebooks.

Program leader of English and Literacy at Confederation, Ashleigh McBain says it will strengthen their “for the love of reading” program.

The additions will also help with the school’s special needs programs.

Confed is the only school in Northern Ontario to get funding from Best Buy.
