Mayor Reflects On First Full Year In Office

For Mayor Brian Bigger and Sudbury City Council, 2015 was a learning curve.

The majority of council including Bigger were new to municipal politics but they began the year off by making good on a campaign promise to freeze taxes.

2015 was a year where Sudbury was named the happiest city in Canada and Amazing Race Canada made a much talked about stop.

Bigger says council’s ability to work with the community to come up with solutions has really impressed him.

Looking forward, Bigger says they will hit the ground running with budget deliberations in the new year.

He says they also plan to hire a new Chief Administrative Officer along with a new Chief Financial Officer, as well as cut red tape to make it easier to invest in the city.
